Zen Chow Asian Diner in Allen

The food was hot and fresh and tasted good but the rice was extremely disappointing. It's a nice, quiet atmosphere but service is slow.

Food was average but the service was horrible. It took me 10 minutes before I could order. For this 10 minutes there was only two other people there. After I ordered the waiter went over and took their order. So they had sat for 10+ minutes before the waiter took their order.While waiting for my food a couple came in along with one single person. After 15 minutes the waiter still hadn't gone over any of them and the couple got up and walked out. That got the waiters notice as the guy came out really quick and then proceeded to watch them from the window. Just bizarre...They were cooking other food in the back...I think for delivery. So my food took nearly 30 minutes (~45 minutes total wait...third person to be served).I've never seen anything like it... I went there because of the reviews but I thought the food was only so-so and the wait was just nuts. Something strange must have been going on that day because if they did this all the time no one would ever go there.

They've recently revamped their menu, and they've included non-American Chinese fare, and it's delicious. Highly recommend!

OH MY GOD, THIS PLACE IS TO DIE FOR. I GO AND ZEN CHOW IT UP WITH THE FAM ALL THE TIME. THE FRENCH FRIES ALONE ARE A FOUR COURSE MEAL!!, I WILL SAY THE ORANGE CHICKEN IS KINDA SPICY BUT THEN AGAIN IM SPICY TOO SO IT WORKS OUT.

Very good food，just waitting time little bit too long at this time. But，I think that is worth it. And they do take card know, they was not years befor.

This place is a subpar Panda Express with overly greasy unfulfilling food. The place looks and feels like a front for the mafia to be honest, hardly anyone is ever there and the service isn't great.

This style of Chinese food is the closest to what you would get in MD, DC, PA, NY. Brown sauce is DELISH. Wait time is horrible. Always order take out and give them plenty of time to prepare it. East Coasters, you won't be disappointed.

This is a great place all around! I've never had a bad experience. Great food that has always been fresh. Usually order takeout, so not sure about dining-in restaurant experience. It's definitely my favorite Chinese food.

Disappointed with the service this time. We have been ordering for delivery for the last over 6 years, and in that time have certainly experienced discrepancies with the order, but they have always been accommodating and taking care of it. Last night's order was missing items and I had to go to their location to pick up and waited another 25 minutes. I disliked that they blamed the doordash carrier for loading the wrong items in the bag, I think that they should have taken more responsibility. They were also very begrudging about refunding our order for the inconvenience. But, the food was delicious, in the end. Mistakes happen, just wish the customer service had been better and more timely.

1st they deliver!!!! You don't have to go through Grubhub or another 3rd party. Just pick up the phone and call in your order. 2nd the food was great! My husband loves Pork Egg Fu Young, but very few places make it to his liking. Well Zen Chow did a great job.I had General Tsao's Chicken and it was very good.

Not a fan....Today I ordered-2 won top soups2 orders of EGG ROLLS (and I confirmed that they were egg rolls and not Spring rolls)1 Gen Tao chicken combo with a side of veggie fried rice.1 order rangoonsWhat I got........2 won tons soups that are inedible (WAY to much soy sauce!!)1 order of Spring rolls.1 Gen Tao Chicken with a side of veggies.1 order of rangoon.I don't eat meat so..... my dinner was- crab rangoons. (the soup was inedible)When I went back to have my order fixed (the veggie fried rice was mine and the egg rolls were spring rolls (cabbage rolled up in a nasty shell). The owner was absolutely awful!!!!Sooooooooo....... I ended up at McDonalds and bought fries.

Food is always good, but the service is a disaster. The restaurant was almost empty, yet someone from our table had to get up and walk to the counter each time we needed anything. Good for to-go orders. Less than optimal for dining in.

The food is good, but the staff is very rude. I went in to pick up my order. While I was waiting, I walked to the counter to ask for a cup of water. The chef rudely yelled from behind the stove, “Not ready! Not ready!” He did not even give me the courtesy of walking over to the counter and asking what I needed. He kept yelling this every time I tried to speak up and ask for some water. And by the way, the food was not ready for 40 minutes, rather than the 15-20 minutes he kept yelling at me from the kitchen.

This place is really nice. Finally I found really Chinese food. Highly recommend.Thank you guys for service!

I have been to several chinese restaurants in the area but this is the only one that makes a good Kung Pao dish. My husband likes the create your own option. What's even better is that they will deliver outside the 5 mile radius for just $3 more dollars which is fantastic given the limited number of restaurants that deliver to where we live in Lucas.

Food is decent, kind of middle of the road. I got the combo fried rice and some other items. The rice wasn’t as greasy as most yet not quite the amount of flavor I’ve had other places. The quality of meat was definitely above par. I asked for it spicy, it was not. I’ll forgive them this as spicy is variable to different people and I’m sure they don’t want to destroy customers mouths. I never got the fried dumplings I ordered, instead receiving cream cheese rangoons. They were actually pretty good...but not what I ordered.All in all, my experience was middle of the road. May come back if none of the other local places are to my liking.

Very excellent dinner. The Bo-Bo Sampler with the flaming pot in the middle was very nice, but the food really made it great.We had Fried Shrimp and Sizzling Seafood and it was very good.The decor is nice and subtle and makes it warm and cozy.Overall the service was excellent and would highly recommend.

Food was - at best - average and service was horrible and, i was the only one in the restaurant. Last time - a waste of money.

Love this place. Food is always good. Service is great & nice ambiance. They're Ok with special orders! Quick for takeout orders as well. Very reasonably priced! Go check it out!

It's okay food but I can honestly say that Stacy's China Express is significantly better.

First time trying this place, got take out. Food was fine, not remarkable, just fine. Was putting the leftover fried rice away for another meal and found a straight black hair in the bottom of the container. Never a good excuse for hair in customer's food!

Best Asian food I've ever had (especially for the price) with excellent service to go along with it.

Two buddies and I went in for lunch right at noon and had no wait. Kind of a surprise because they had such great online reviews. The food was every bit as good as P.F. Chang's and the waiter was attentive, friendly and prompt. The food came out hot and fresh in 10 minutes max. In my opinion the decor could use a little work but for what you pay for, it's a great value. One of the best Chinese food places I can think of for under $10 per plate.

Fresh ingredients, but no flavor. Service is painfully slow because they are understaffed and have many to go orders. Have been here twice with no improvement.

Stopped in because I was in the neighborhood and ordered takeout. Portion sizes were great, but quality was just ok. The General Tso chicken was a bit soggy, and the dumplings were all stuck together and tore apart when we tried to separate them.Service was pretty quick and price was right. Would return again if I were in a hurry.

Food is decent, especially for the price. Not as good as some, but better than most. They are very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Will make food to specific order. Would like to see them add jasmine BROWN rice as an option.

There are huge portions but the quality has gone down since they first opened. I'm rooting for them but there is still a lot they can do better these days.

Website and sign say open at 11 on Sunday but at 11:45 the place is locked up tight. And no answer or message about hours when you call. Are they out of business??

Great food. Had szechwan once and could not decide on a meat so I told them to surprise me. Got home and the meal contained an amount of each meat. It was an terrific meal! Should be on the menu. Of course they do have a house lomain? That contains a variety of meats. I recommend this also.
